Biography
Dr. Karen Hanna specializes in bariatric and general surgery. She has expertise in minimally invasive robotic surgery, laparoscopy and endoscopy. She attended Medical School under the U.S. Navy Health Professionals Scholarship Program. She had a successful 22-year U.S. Navy career, including General Surgery training, reaching the rank of Captain. During her time in the Navy, Dr. Hanna completed a Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery fellowship at the University of Missouri and went on to run the Bariatric Program at the Naval Medical Center San Diego the last 6 years of her Navy Career. In 2014 she moved to North County and started a Bariatric program from the ground up. Dr. Hanna concentrates on weight loss surgery, but she also specializes in gastrointestinal, reflux, and hernia surgery. She is dedicated to the empathic and compassionate care of all her patients.
